State of Emergency Declared After Flooding on Vancouver Island

About 300 families have been forced from their homes on Vancouver Island about 50 kilometres north of Victoria.Up to 155 millimetres of rain fell within 24 hours causing two rivers to spill over their banks and flood homes.The affected area includes the region around Duncan and North Cowichan. A local state of emergency is now in effect in that area.Water in some homes was as high as the doorknobs.  SOURCE
